"Consider it pure joy..." A sweet way of putting it really...I mean, it's God...if I were him I would scream "IT IS pure joy..." rather, He gives us the option to "consider it".
"Trials of many kinds..." You can endure many, many different trials in life. Trivial ones...monumental ones...regarding your career, family or your health. We each face trials on a daily basis but do we see them the way God wants us to see them?
"The testing of your faith develops perseverance." AMEN.
"Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." In other words (or how I see this in my life), don't make your own plans to "get out" of your trials...only God will remove them from your life when He is ready and in accordance with His own plans.
I am so thankful for the trials that God has recently placed in my life. I am thankful because they have allowed me great perspective on life, to find what is truly important to me and have grown me even closer to God, my hubby and my family.
Thank you, God, for this trial you have brought into my life! Make me mature and complete and not lacking in ANYTHING!

Another great verse that goes hand in hand is romans 8:28. Being a Christian does not make your life easy, (makes it harder in some cases), but with verses like these to cling to it certainly makes it seen a little easier. :)
